1) Historically, what does the "@" sign mean? it was a sign to tell people where there at & to communicate to other people.
2) Why was the "@" revived?
3) Do you think the "@" sign would have remained on keyboards if it weren't for the invention of the internet? Why or why not? no cause there wouldn't be no communication towards people if there were no "@" sign.
4) Can you name another composite symbol on the keyboard? What word is it short for? the "!" sign is to shout out stuff when you use it people your shouting stuff out.

For today's do now, Google image search "Illuminated manuscript." Find an appealing layout and post it to your blog. Also on your blog, answer the questions about the layout you chose in the form of a short paragraph:
1) How is the body text aligned? (is it randomly placed? is it in line with a border? its in line with a border
2) How does the illuminated letter fit into the body text? it has good texture to it
3) Is there a border? Describe the border. the border is all around the picture
4) Are there any pictures apart from the letter? yes there are pictures apart from the letter

1. Describe the illustrator's use of proximity to organize the letter. How do you "read" image (which parts do you associate with each other)? Why? Consider layout, size, and color. Its a letter but also the letter is also a picture
2. Try to slow down and focus on how your eyes moves around the pages. Describe the artist's use of emphasis: Is there one part of the image in particular that stands out? Please give an example of why or why not. the letter b has a picture on it that stands out a lot to it
3. Name all the different textures that you see...do any go along with the images, or are they only for decoration? it has very good texture to it , it has very good color to it & it shows out to it
